Teaching Academy

As one of the largest providers of qualified teachers to the NYC public school system, the Department of Education is partnering with Touro on a this new initiative. Our candidates are placed in a school to work alongside a DOE teacher. It’s a rigorous program, with more intensive training, and a greater time commitment. You will need to be in the classroom every day.

Participating in this program can lead to preferential hiring and satisfies your practicum requirements. There are 10-15 slots available, so it is highly competitive.
